EFTPOS Surcharge
Originating from the blue mountains, we joined together to bring our unique sound to the stage. Our renditions of old classics, together with our own original compositions have allowed us to connect across demographics & bring together a community all about the love of sound. Our blend between jazz, pop & funk have defined this sound & we love to keep sharing it with the world.
JAMES ROY
James is a multi-instrumental singer/songwriter from the Blue Mountains. His influences range from James Taylor and Bob Dylan to Lyle Lovett, Asgeir, SHow of Hands and Mark Knopfler. In his own music he explores such themes as inequity, religious trauma, humanism and (in one particular case) door sausages as a way to mitigate soaring power bills in an alpine environment.
NATHAN SMITH
A Celtic/Folk/Rock singer songwriter from Katoomba. In his youth Nathan travelled Europe with his guitar and voice performing on street corners and in bars before returning home to Sydney form the rock band, 'The Years'. Decades later Nathan has reemerged bringing his favourite songs back to life. He is accompanied by former band member and Patrick Smith on whistle, harmonica and lead guitar, Patrick Smith, performing a set designed to stop you in your tracks.
IAN MCLEOD
Ian currently performs both solo and within the trio of himself, Ian Willis and Nick Roberts performing his original compositions and songs with a residency at On The Soul Side Café in Katoomba. He writes within a variety of genres including folk, country, Latin, Caribbean and other World Music forms. He chiefly plays guitar to accompany his vocals but also plays a variety of percussion instruments. He occasionally also performs spoken word pieces with musical accompaniment.
Clint Benge
Playing Spanish and Latin American Music for classical guitar as well as folk music from around the world, including some lovely Irish airs and ballads. Also might be heard playing some slide guitar now and again.
HONCHO Blues
H O N C H O Blues is a mountains based three piece of musicians serving up a blues psyche inspired ouvre of works which traipse seductively toward the trajectory of a down and out crescendo.
LINDA MIZZI
Linda Mizzi is a story teller at heart, weaving tales that tug at the heartstrings and spark the imagination - she has a passion for the human experience and her songs are a heady mix of light and shadow, with a dose of wit and vulnerability. Linda performs solo and also with her trio featuring Glenn Skarratt (Mandolin & Guitar), and Alex Keller (Bass guitar & Cello). The trio’s songs have a strong direction toward folk/country, however you will still hear undertones of blues - but more importantly, strong and thought provoking lyrics.
TIMBERMOTH
Tim Hay lives with his young family in Winmalee. When not writing songs or playing local gigs you’ll likely find him running his recording/rehearsal studio business The Soup Room Studio or doing disability support work. The songs Tim writes are inspired by the mundane, occasionally profane and generally humane personal experiences, observations and interactions life offers. Tim has been working on his craft for several years but is still a relatively fresh performer when it comes to this Timbermoth chapter of his music.
WRINKLEPICKERS
Brian and Krysstal first met at the Edinburgh Festival in 200. Since then they have performed comedy and music all over the UK, Europe and Australia. They moved to the Blue Mountains in 2022 and have been performing their original music at local venues mostly as a duo but also with other musicians. They're quite lively and fun and try not to take themselves too seriously; we do miserable songs cheerfully performed.
